On June 5, 2014, Joe Becker sent me, Bob Meli, a letter stating that he had written a booklet after lengthy research about SSGT Alfred H. Luhmann and the events of the World War II B-24 bomber that lead to his death.
 
I went to Joe Becker’s house shortly after I received the letter and he gave me the material he had written and assembled to be posted on
our website. 

The street sign is right on the corner of where he lived and Joe Becker said he felt moved to find out who Alfred H. Luhmann was and what had happened. 

We would like to thank Joe Becker who is a veteran himself of the Vietnam War period for his service and the effort he put into finding out the history behind the service and sacrifice ofAlfred H. Luhmann and his fellow crew members.
